Fighting to a coast

I think it is safe to say that all fights that actually mean anything will be on paper view, but have we ever consider taking the ladder on this position? Us, as the general public, seldomly realize how much power we hold as viewers. Taking a stand to pay per view is a stretch because essentially you would be boycotting them. I think protesting how expensive the cost of watching main events that should be available on stations like "Fox" or "NBC."

Why has such a pioneered sport like boxing become non existent in ratings compared to a football or a basketball? This answer is simple. Prices for big fights. I understand certain people have to make money but, what if ALL seven games of the NBA finals were on pay per view for some expensive packaged cost, lets say all four games for $99.99 or the division playoffs and Superbowl on pay per view. We as the public would fight against paying to watch our most beloved sports harder than we would a boxing match.

I believe putting a popular boxing match that is usually on pay per view on a station like "Fox" would not only boost the want for this great sport but also inspire more to want to participate in this sport. We all know the business aspect of this situation, I assure that it is not to be ignored, we also must look at the demand of this sport. It is one thing to say one wont watch a certain event because of the lack of interest but it is another to say one wont watch because it is too expensive. Lastly, I think this would slow down the media power of pay per view which would only be a good thing, taking away one of its most popular events would make the money cow fold to cheaper prices for all their events and that is something all viewers of pay per view would love.
